I think it's kind of funny that as I read Tim's comment on my last post, I had just finished an article about using lighting as a visual merchandising tool.
Of course, Tim is 100% correct. I can use all the lighting tricks I want, and learn all of the smoke and mirrors behind 'visual merchandising', but in the end, it all comes down to knowing what my customers want.
My store is called Dancing Cactus Imports, and everyone (well, almost) who wanders in says "Where's the dancing cactus?". I am on the lookout for one of those, but in the meantime, I picked up some mini cactus plants that I could sell at a low price.
I am actually selling more cacti than anything else! Who could have predicted that? If only our customers would always tell us so clearly what it is that they want, wouldn't our jobs be much easier?

Yes, our jobs would be so much easier! Having done this for a while, I've learned that as soon as we figure out what our customers want, they want something else.
I thought of you and your search for a Dancing Cactus while looking for something else.
Good luck and continue to keep us posted.
