Finally my website is open for business! I still have some tweaking to do, and I can see that taking care of this baby is going to be a never-ending job, but at least it's at a point where it is acceptable to me.
The osCommerce community has a My Store forum, where you can list your store and receive comments and critiques from others in the community. I'll tell you, these people are a tough crowd! They really look at every little thing, from design, to spelling and grammar, to ease of use, and more.
I submitted my online store, closed my eyes, hit submit, and cringed as I checked my nessages the next day. To my surprise, the comments weren't very harsh! I received some very good suggestions for improvements, which I have begun implementing.
Now comes the next big web job - search engine optimization.
