Who would have thought that Cocoa Puffs (General Mills GIS) would be the next big fast food concept? While Cereality expands it's horizons, the Miami Herald took an in-depth look at another cereal cafe start-up called the Cereal Bowl, opened by two brothers and a friend of theirs.
The Herald followed the three entreprenuers over a 12 month period, watching their concept grow from dream to reality. Their story was published as 12 articles, one per month during the year that the Herald shadowed them.
The result is a very interesting journey with the young entrepreneurs as you get an inside look at the ups and downs, obstacles, and ultimate success of their business. At most of the monthly milestones, the Herald also has a link to an article with more advice about the particular challenge faced by the Cereal Bowl that month.
Although not every start-up will hit the ground running as quickly as this company did, their story is an informative case study well worth reading for the lessons it conveys.
