During my web wandering, I found a site that has tons of useful information and links for those of you wanting to start a business in Canada. The site is a service of the Canadian government, and can be accessed in English or in French.
Much of the information contained will apply to you as a start-up entrpreneur whether you live in Canada or not, such as marketing, growing, and how to do business over the internet. If you do live in Canada, you will be able to find specifics about Canadian taxation, legal issues, events, and more.
One of the most helpful tools the site offers is an interactive business planner, which can be used by anyone, regardless of your location. (free registration required to use it) It walks you through creating a business plan by asking simple questions, and showing you what a typical answer should look like. It has links to sample plans, and to other sources of information that will help you write your plan.
Whether you are starting a new business, or growing your business, give the planner a try. You can save your plan at the site for 60 days, or download it to your own computer.![]()
