My co-blogger here at Know More Media, Kimberlee Morrison (she'll be happy I spelled her name correctly this time...), sums up all of the debate we've been having this week over the minimum wage:
"I know my comment on the first article in this serise exposed my niavete, but after discussing this issue further (and taking some debate beatings here as well as on Newsvine), I think I understand that the issue boils down to having to make very tough decisions as a business owner. I was thinking from a macro POV rather than micro and also from a lack of trust that business leaders will do the right thing when it comes to "taking care" of their employees.
Of course, one could never be expected to care for others to their
own detriment and from what I have learned over the last couple days...let's just say I'm glad I have bankable skills, that I already make more than the minimum and that I am not running a business employing others. My hat is off to those who have to face the tough business decisions everyday."
Well said, Kimberlee.
As a business owner, I can honestly say that I love paying my employees as much as possible. Who wouldn't want to pay someone you like and respect as much money as possible? However, there are industries where they have to employ minimum wage employees. And in those cases, it all comes down to economics.

Great job discussing and debating this important topic in depth, Dan (and Kimberlee)!
