If you're building your new business empire brick by brick, slowly over time, you can look to one of the all-time business greats for inspiration.
According to the Carnegie Foundation, Andrew Carnegie began his career as a bobbin boy in a Pennsylvania cotton mill at age 13. At 40 years old, after years of work with Western Union and the Pennsylvania Railroad, Carnegie opened his first steel plant in Pennsylvania. Twenty-five years later, he sold Carnegie Steel Company to J.P. Morgan for $480 million and spent the rest of life on philanthropy and writing.
Carnegie established the Carnegie Corporation and spent more than $56 million to build 2,509 libraries. During his lifetime, Carnegie gave away more than
$350 million.
In 2004, Forbes named Andrew Carnegie one of the Most Influential Businessmen of All Time.
It took Carnegie a lifetime to build his dream, and that will probably be the same story for your enterprise. Settle in for the long haul, and expect to be successful!
